Shito Ryu Karate.
使徒龍空手
This is a style of karate that was founded by master Kenwa Mabuni in the year 1931. The katas Aoyagi Seiryuu and Meijou Myoujo were designed specifically for women as a request by the japanese government.
Mabuni a 17th generation descendant of the famous historic warrior know as Uni UUfugusuku Kenyu was born in Okinawa in the year 1889. Mabuni started a system of art in what is known as Shuri-Te, at the young age of
thirteen years old. He trained under the legendary master Anko Yasutsune Itosu. After years of training in the many kata under Itosu, Itosu introduced Mabuni to a close friend of his, the great Higaonna Kanryo, where he began to learn the style
of Naha-Te. The two masters styles were the same in that they were hard and soft, however they differ with technique. Itosi technique was straight and powerful. Higashionna technique was composed of open hand and stressed circular motion with shorter
fighting methods. Mabuni went on to train with other masters while keeping his focus on the two other masters techniques. Seisho Aragaki, Tawada Shimboku, Sueyoshi Jino, and Wu Xianhui known in China as Go-Kenki.
